Arrival at Madrid airport where you will be met by our representative and transferred to Toledo. It was the capital and Royal residence in the Middle Ages, and in XIIIth century the Moslems, Jewish, and Christians lived peacefully together flourishing as a great culture and monumental center. We will enjoy a walk along its narrow streets where history can be felt in the air. Afternoon guided city tour, we will visit the Cathedral, St Tome Church ( to see El Greco’s masterpiece) and the Synagogue. In the evening we suggest a stroll along the stone streets when all the tourists from Madrid are gone and the town is left quiet and ready to be explored. Its medieval streets light up will bring us magically back through the centuries. Welcome dinner at hotel.

Some more time to walk and discover this unique town. Depart for Valencia. Stop in Aranjuez- the royal summer residence for the Borbon kings. Its fantastic gardens inspired a masterpiece for the classic Spanish guitar (Concert of Aranjuez). The Royal Palace can be visited. After your arrival in Valencia dinner in hotel.

Valencia is located on fertile land and with sunny Mediterranean weather. It is surrounded by a rich orchards (its oranges are famous worldwide) and full of splendid public gardens. It was conquered by the mythic El Cid on behalf of the Christians in 1094, but the city later fell to the Almoravids in 1102. Morning guided city tour, including its Gothic cathedral, where the bell tower called ‘Micalet’ is the symbol of the town. La Lonja, an emblematic building of the city and one of the most famous civil gothic monuments in Europe. It was declared a National Historic and Artistic Monument in July1931 and was made a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in December 1996. We will also see the top new architecture project of the Ciudad de Las Artes y las Ciencias (city of Sciences and Arts). Continue to Barcelona for dinner and overnight.  

After breakfast enjoy a city tour of Barcelona including: panoramic views of the Harbor area, Montjuic, Plaza de España, and Plaza de Catalunya. Afterwards, continue on a guided walk through the Gothic Quarter to visit the Barcelona Cathedral and to view Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia, a beautiful, unfinished Roman Catholic basilica of impressive proportions. Afternoon at your leisure. Dinner and overnight.

This morning we visit the Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar, the place where Mary appeared to the Apostle James before her Assumption into heaven. The church was built upon the site of where Our Lady appeared to St. James. In 44 A.D. St. James, the Greater was spreading the Gospel in Spain but, making very little progress and questioning his mission. According to Catholic Tradition, the Virgin Mary, who was still living in Jerusalem, bi-located and appeared to St. James the Greater to boost his morale. While inside the Basilica, we will view the pillar that was carried by angels and from atop Our Lady appeared. We depart Zaragoza for Spain’s capital: Madrid. Dinner and overnight.

This morning enjoy a guided tour of Madrid including a visit to Puerta del Sol, Retiro Park, Plaza de Espana, and the Royal Palace. The afternoon is at leisure to enjoy on your own the Spanish capital. Dinner and overnight.

Transfer to the airport for your return flight.
